![]() ![]() Yamaha resurrected the Ventures V4 engine in 1996 in the Royal Star cruiser, then later brought out a full touring version in 1999 as the Royal Star Venture. I will try and upload some pictures tomorrow or Friday. Re: 1986 Yamaha Venture Royale Project: Freightliner Hey there, I found your thread through a google search for info on de-linking the brakes, and when. The 1,198 cc (73.1 cu in) V4 engine from the Mk1 Venture was modified for performance and was used as the engine in the Yamaha V-Max. I have also preliminarily polished most of the chrome out and started to re-install most of it. The first in the series was the Venture Royale. In 1983 Yamaha created a V4 engine that debuted in the Yamaha Venture motorcycle series. It is a premier touring motorcycle manufactured in two forms by Yamaha from 1983 to 1993 and from 1999 to 2013. I however did add 2 fog/driving lights to the bike under the fairing (removed the fairing and repaired some cracked plastic at the same time). The Yamaha Royal Star Venture is a luxury touring motorcycle built by the Yamaha Motor Company. Replaced the carb diaphragms and found out i needed a new slider so I have one on order that should arrive on Friday!!! I decided to hold off on LED light conversion until next winter and I will probably wait until the summer to add a 12V outlet. I have flushed the clutch fluid (NASTY FLUID!!!!!) and refilled it. Runs well, needs minimal work to pass MD inspection. Since my last update I have de-linked, and upgraded the brake likes to stainless steel lines (magnum BYO kit) and upgraded the front calipers to R6 calipers. 1986 Yamaha Venture ROYALE, This is a 1300cc Venture Royale V-Max.
